Installation

A facade that fits by hand.

Because CLADECO® is coated expanded polystyrene rather than cast stone, GRC or GRP, a finished piece weighs a fraction of its conventional equivalent. That single property changes the whole site logic: pieces are carried, positioned and bonded by a small crew, with no structural frame, no lifting plant and no specialist trades. The result is a faster, cleaner, lower-risk installation — and a seamless monolithic finish once the joints are filled.

Sequence

Six steps, substrate to finish.

A high-level overview of how CLADECO® Facades are typically installed on a prepared substrate. Every project is different — site conditions, panel geometry, substrate type and crew size all shape the final method — so each order ships with a project-specific installation plan from the Insutech technical team.

Step 01

Substrate preparation

The substrate is cleaned and levelled, and primer is applied where required. Compatible substrates include render, concrete, brick and block.

Step 02

Fixation method

Cement-based adhesive, mechanical fastener, or both — selected per piece geometry. No specialty bonding agents required.

Step 03

Panel placement

Pieces are positioned by hand to the layout drawing. A two-person crew applies roughly 80–120 m² per day. No crane, no winch.

Joint treatment

All joints are filled with the same factory-grade acrylic, eliminating visible joint lines and producing a seamless monolithic surface.

Surface check & repair

Edges and faces are inspected. Any chips, cracks or transport damage are repaired in place using the same acrylic material.

Final finish

The acrylic shell is paint-ready out of the box and accepts any standard architectural finish — paint, render or decorative texture.

Benefits

CLADECO® bonds directly to the structure you already have, with standard site materials and a small crew. That single property — a coated-EPS facade instead of cast stone, GRC or GRP — cascades into faster programs, lower cost and a better-performing building.

Bonds to the structure you have

Fixes directly over render, concrete, brick or block. The wall carries the load, so there's no secondary steel frame to design, supply or maintain.

Lightweight — set by hand

Coated-EPS elements weigh a fraction of GRC or cast stone, so a two-person crew carries and positions them by hand at roughly 80–120 m² a day.

No specialist plant or tools

Installed with a notched trowel, drill/driver and standard hand tools — no crane, winch or exotic consumables. Damage is repaired in place with the same acrylic material.

Cuts labor & program time

Fewer trades, fewer lifts and faster sign-off mean facades are dressed in days, not weeks — keeping the wider program on track.

Lower installed cost

No molds and no minimum order, plus less plant and less labor on site, bring the all-in installed cost of an ornamented facade down.

Higher thermal efficiency

The coated-EPS body adds insulation across the elevation, lifting the building's overall energy performance instead of just dressing it.
